Yet one more quick question…..does the entire story have to be told in the first person in order to qualify as noir or is it acceptable for some of the narrative be third person?
I was beginning to think I’d have to withdraw but I do believe an acceptable concept has finally been proposed but my oft times elusive muse.
Appreciate any and all answers to my question. Thank you.

The story can be told in any fashion or form. I read one Noir "comic" that was told in 2nd. About half the samples I've read (so far) are in 1st, about half in 3rd. |

Doesn't look like I'll be able to incorporate the picture into my story. There's just no logical reason for its inclusion. Hopefully that won't be cause for disqualification?  |

I thought I had an ending for my story but I don't like it anymore. It's not really bleak. Just a reveal and then nothing. Which is kind of a cheap way to end a story. Or maybe I'm too hard on myself. I don't know. Might rethink some stuff.

We're in the same boat. No disqualification for not incorporating the picture. We might get docked a few points in the Prompt area, that's all. |

Mine went a little awry from what I originally intended.
I like it okay and have invested sufficient time and effort into its composition to send it out to meet its fate.....
After a little more revision and polishing, that is.
We do have until Wednesday, right?

Sorry to announce, but I'm going to have to drop out.
I'm not making enough progress to meet the deadline and I also started a new job, woo! Not to mention that I misunderstood the genre at first and it's more of a detective story than Noir lol.
I still intend to work on it and eventually post it somewhere on the forum, whether I'm happy with the end result or not.

I may be dropping out as well. I was prepared to dive head first into this today, my first day off after working a four day weekend. Then I got a text from my childhood best friend - her mom had a massive stroke. And it looks like she's not going to make it. 😢
