I've extended our current prompt by one more week, as this week was a holiday for some.

THE HOLIDAYS ARE UPON US Honestly, the nerve to have so many year-end holidays fall on a WEEKEND. So much for those nice 4-day chunks with no work. Ah well. Anyway! The holidays are coming, the geese are getting fat, and so the Rolling 100 Weekly will hanging up its hat.
Okay, it's maybe not that dire. We'll just be taking a short break to give all of you the same. Here's what our schedule will look like for the end of the year:
> Voting for the current prompt - "Wood, Frost, Hearth" - will open tomorrow (Dec. 11th) and continue through the 18th, as per usual.
> The final prompt of the year will be posted tomorrow (Dec. 11th) and will be open for submissions until midnight, Dec. 17th
> Voting on the final prompt will open on Dec. 18th, and be open until the turn of midnight, New Years' Eve.
> We will return with a new prompt on Jan. 1st, 2023!
Thanks to all for a year of fantastic submissions! Can't wait to see what you'll all pen in 2023, but until then: whatever you celebrate this coming holiday season, may it be filled with joy and laughter, and all the blessings you deserve!

I meant to enter that last one. Had an entry started and everything. Then the weekend happened. Ugh.

Caulder Melhaire - so this latest prompt, Reactor. Is it a bad sign that when I read that word all I can hear in my head is an asura saying "The reactor blew." Methinks I hang out in Rata Sum too much, ugh.

Also! A new fun thing. I'm posting my old 100 Word entries on Mastodon as #Microfiction and #smallstories (making an image so all 100 words fit in the post), and getting some fun feedback. Yesterday, I posted my entry for the "avalanche" prompt, and ruined a person's lunch. Fabulous. Here it is, as a reminder: Anyway, I never would've thought to do this but saw some other writers posting microfic, and realized our 100 Word entries are sooooo much better. Wondered if anyone else wanted to play along.

I might give it a "go" if I can find anything that might be suitable.

Given that things have been slow lately (or downright absent) and we already have a contest going on this month, I think this is a good time for the Weekly 100 Challenge to take a short break.
So sip some lemonade, stay out of that rising heat, and let's get back to it in July!

Dang it. I had a great idea for this week's prompt, then I got distracted for all of fifteen minutes and lost the idea to the ether. Why, brain, why??? THEN the site went down. Opened a help ticket and everything, and come to find out, ProBoards was having big time issues with lots of forums. Ugh. So that's the reason I didn't get an entry in yet this week.

The holiday season is upon us, so I'm gonna give the Rolling Weekly some time off. There'll be no prompt this week, and no prompt for the next, but we WILL return with a brand new prompt on New Year's Eve. And, I'll do my annual calculations and figure out what our leaderboard looks like for 2023.

Well apparently, I got sick for New Years, so the weekly will return NEXT week once I've hopefully shrugged off whatever viral madness I've caught and can think clearly again. If I'm not in jail for murdering the person who will regularly call off for the slightest issue, but decided the HOLIDAYS were a good time to push through and just come to work sick as fu
