Ooo, I like the two possible interpretations of this week's prompt. Hmm... which will I go with?

I love this week's prompt, but I'm having trouble developing the idea I'm trying to capture... Will keep working on it. Better hurry tho.

Aw, man! I missed Satin. I had a response to the prompt started and everything. Then an insane weekend hit. Crud.

I am SO sorry, I just now realized what day it was and what I have forgotten to do this past weekend! Caulder, you fool. Can I plead for mercy and say that I moved this weekend and it totally bungled my schedule, sleep and otherwise? No? Fiiiiiiine Okay. I got everything updated and switched over. The Weekly 100 will just take the rest of this week off and resume our regularly scheduled programming on this coming Sunday!

Oh, gosh. I think the 100 Weekly has become the "how dark can we get?" challenge. I love it. It's like the perfect exercise in expressing the dark things we dread. Short-short form, so we don't have to spend too much time there.
When I was putting all the 100 Weekly submissions together for the Compendium, this really occurred to me. Anyone who reads the Compendium is going to be like "Man, these people are trying to one-up each other in their eff-uppedness."
Yes. Yes, we are. No apologies here.

FOR REAL I threw "Bubbles" onto the playing field with the deliberate intent of upsetting the trend and it still went dark as hell I thought the sadistic cookie jar entries were impressive enough but damn. I mean I love it. But it is incredibly funny to watch unfold. I think you're absolutely right about the short form dread bit. It's such a perfect starting theme to set up a relatable circumstance and execute a clever twist on it in only 100 words.

Hear ye! Hear ye! This week's 100 Weekly challenge--" Laundry Day"--is the last that will be accepted for the 2021 edition of the Compendium. Winners of challenges posted on August 29 and after will go in the 2022 edition, a year from now.

Ack! Check it out! There's a contest for micro fiction. Some of our writers are so skilled at this short-short form that I thought I'd post this here, in case someone is interested. There's a couple more days to enter. MICRO FICTION CONTEST BY FRACTURED LITThere is a submission fee, but that's normal for contests. Goes into the prize pool.

I found another place that is wanting Micro fiction 100 words or less. This one will pay the winner $100!!! Doesn't look like it's asking for entry fees either. This is perfect for our 100 Word Weekly writers!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...
And the holiday season in general. We'll be taking a short break this week, and round out the year with one final prompt this Sunday.
So whatever you celebrate, if you celebrate, have a happy one: may your day(s) be full of love and life and joy, remembrance and healthy ponderance, and all the wonderful things your individual holidays bring you.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! New year; new round of prompts! And in the interest of housekeeping, I'll be wiping the record from 2021, but not before doing one final calculation... Congratulations to FoxxGlove for having the most winning stories of the year! Yes, I'm counting tied victories because we counted them for the challenge themselves, but even if I take those away, she still wins with a whopping 12 first place tales. RAVENEYE and Mazulla tied for 2nd place with a blistering 9, and pelwrath rounds out our victors podium with a brilliant 5 wins. I say this calls for a celebration! I'm awarding Foxxglove an extra 100 HARD points, Raveneye and Mazulla an extra 100 MEDIUM points, and Pelwrath an additional 100 EASY points for churning out so many amazing stories last year. Thanks to everyone for participating, and I look forward to seeing more of your amazing 100 Word stories in our 2022 round! This week's challenge is already underway.
