JUUUUUST started back playing GW2 again. Still playing Minecraft, because there's something awesome about a game that's low-res enough to not over-stimulate my brain and has such a wide range of things that I can be mindless or put real thought into it.
Mindless...mining. Endless mining. Creatively building up a settlement. Screaming at the screen when something I've been trying to accomplish for over an hour crash and burns.
Oh, and random games my son, hubby, and I all try to play together. Twisty Towers, Path of Exiles, Phantasy Star Online 2...we try lots of different ones.

The only game I really play nowadays is Oldschool RuneScape for the nostalgia factor. I can play on mobile or on laptop depending on my level of attention span, can play for 5 minutes or for hours at a time. It’s a really at-your-own-pace kinda game aside from raids and some end game combat stuff. Been playing that game off and on since like 2005 actually. Graphics are horrid and it’s a grindfest, but it has a special place in my heart. Ah! Grindfests! Here's a grindfest for you: in GW2 I'm in the process of crafting a legendary staff (it will have live ravens on it, so I NEED this mega-awesome staff!), and to complete it, I have to harvest more than 15,000 elderwood trees, plus thousands more of other kinds of trees. Is it completely dumb that whenever I see a tree in game, I get all excited and call a halt to a battle, just so I can harvest said tree? SMH, it's pathetic. I'd love to know what other folks are grinding for and the ridiculous things we're having to subject our toons to, so they can accomplish XYZ. Commiserate with me and tell your grinding woes.

I have done two legendaries now (I think...? I know I have the longbow.) And no, it isn't pathetic to stop something just so you can harvest elder wood.
I spent weeks, months, grinding the normal routes for elder wood, iron, plat, flax, and anything else I could use to sell so I could BUY more wood...and it still wasn't enough for the longest time. When I FINALLY got one part of the legendary and was super happy that I could FINALLY STOP harvesting elder wood... the next step required just as much of the same, if not more. lol

You think you're finished with the grinding, then wait! There's another step you didn't foresee. It took me forever to finish Astralaria, both because of the grinding to collect all the metal I needed (same amount of metal for Astralaria as I need wood for Nevermore), and because I was terrified to do fractals with PuGs. Why oh why did I choose to do two 2nd generation legendaries??? They're a bit more involved than 1st generation, and through those stupid-hard Heart of Thorns maps. Just gross. I'm dreading the moment when the recipe calls for flax. I just know it will. Farming flax is going to suuuuuuuck! Crossing fingers that won't be required.

I had to do flax to get the oil. There are two locations (I don't know if they added another) to farm flax. You can run each with each of your toons once a day... BUT!
If you time when you go in and get the request to move to a different server because there aren't many people online, you can harvest that farm AGAIN in the same day! I got to do that three times before. I was so happy.
Also, doing a LFG for any of the groups running through HoT maps can net you a lot of flax when all you're doing is running with the group. HP trains are the greatest for that. It's like a free entourage to guard you from the nasties! lol

Just started Sea of Solitude on my Xbox One. Oooo! What's Sea of Solitude? Love the title.
Its an independent game from Jo-Mei Games in Germany. The story is about Kay, this young woman, with internal monsters who manifest as big versions of herself (I think). Its her journey to overcome them, plus whatever depressive mental states she is struggling with. All in this calm, pretty city (so far) mostly covered with seawater. That is all I know of it so far.

Whoa, that sounds intense. And timely.

Whoa, that sounds intense. And timely. Finished it on one day. Its not intense for me, but it was good, touching, something to learn from. Timely? I know what you mean, ehh... the loneliness theme is not aiming to this year; its really for any time.

Welp, I guess I can add Elite Dangerous to this list, thanks Shadow.
I've played for 57 hours since installing it basically a week ago. Since then I've fully upgraded my Diamondback Explorer, spent real life money on fancy spacebux for a shiny paint job, and collected the elusive Sol permit so I can fly around Uranus. I've also upgraded my lasers and strapped on a rack of seeker missiles because I'm officially tired of pirates trying to interdict me and my cargo.
NPC pirates, anyway. No way in hell am I taking on a PvP pirate

BioShock. First time, and with the remastered collection for Xbox One. You're in for a treat, Bioshock is one of my favourite games ever. I'm actually replaying it as well for the first time in years. How are you finding it so far?

Started the year finishing BioShock. Now in BioShock 2, Star Wars: Squadrons, Call of the Sea - my first next (now current) generation game - with once in a while Portal 2 on Steam with my brother. Since I received my new Xbox Series X on January 30th for my generational upgrade, I thought of recording single player games. Using my new custom PC (first one), the plan is to edit videos analyzing writing as a scene progresses a narrative, or develops a character. Or as Doublejay09 suggested, to analyze writing in scenes that cause a game to be famous, iconic, emotional, or grand!
