Hello. For my being allowed to participate in this forum, I am grateful.
First, I want to say that, for me, there are no topics more interesting me than language, rhetoric, and writing.
But I have struggled greatly to master such skills, and have come short; because there was nothing for me to write about, because it is no easy task to master revision. And even now, such skills are difficult for me, especially that of invention.
The most difficult thing for me, among all skills of writing to master, is invention, though, for the longest time, I could hardly write a decent sounding sentence. But it is doubtful that now, I will consistently write good sentences in the future, nor do I boast of having written any good sentence either now or in the past.
So what I have come here to learn is this: language, rhetoric, and writing, especially of phrasing, especially of invention.
In this post, I did not first write a rough draft, but as I drafted, I revised.
Please be mindful that, as I post on this forum, my writing may fluctuate from good to bad, and from bad to good, or otherwise turn into prose with the most awful sound, myself doubting this: if I am able to write well consistently; not with the claim that I'm doing so now.

First of all welcome. There is always positive and constructive feedback to be found here so do not think that anyone will think less of you if you make a mistake. As for the quality of words, this is a much more difficult subject to definitively comment on here. I know for one most of what I write is absolutely garbage, but this is why we edit and revise and rewrite. This is the art of authoring, not merely putting words on a page, but perfecting those words over time.
Having said that, there is no need for formality when commenting or interacting in the forums. No one is going to care if you sound like a poet when discussing music. So relax, have fun and enjoy yourself. That is the purpose of writing after all... to have fun. Yes?

Octogan, A pleasure to have you here. A lifetime will never make anyone a master of those subjects. That said, the pressure we put on ourselves is the heaviest.

Thank you everyone for the encouragement.
There is, among all the most viable tools for the production of rhythm in prose, the utilization of variety in sentence structure, and application of patterns out of that enormous syntactic repertoire which I hope to built up for myself of the English language. Moreover, the figures of speech in rhetoric are most excellent.

Oh, gosh, I don't think any of us here, or any writer anywhere in the world (who has an ounce of humility) will claim to write a decent sounding sentence all the time. Humans are full of error and words are imperfect tools often wielded most imperfectly, so we're all here to learn together and help each other write better. No pressure ever. I hope you'll just dive in and have fun as you toss words together.

Absolutely, I think all of our writing is prone to fluctuating on a daily basis. (To be quite honest I can't even speak perfectly half the time, let alone write LOL) But we're here to be supportive and help each other learn. So welcome! Glad to have you join us, and I hope to see you around.
