Voting closed!
Submissions are closed, and we have seven entries. All entrants are required to vote; others may vote too. Here's how. 1) Critique. Post a critique on all the entries except your own; you may "critique" your own as well to preserve anonymity. This is just a way to give reactions and feedback. You don't need to assign any scores. 2) Vote in the online poll. Poll link: (removed) Access code: 1139595 If you entered a piece, you must vote for yourself in the last (seventh) place. When prompted for your "first name," enter the beginning of your username so I'd recognize you. Voting is due at the end of January, GMT.

What a good turnout! Excited to read them and see how everyone interpreted the prompt. Good luck, all!

Wow, I didn't think we'd have that many. Very exciting.

Do I understand correctly that any comments/critiques that might be made regarding a certain entry may not actually show up as connected to the story in question? If so, should we reference which one we are referring to, as in...RE: Entry No. 1, for example, at the top of the post?

You post comments about a story on the story's thread, like usual.

Actually, I'm glad that's been stated. No worries, Foxxglove. We got your back.

Hmm... I'm probably going to read and crit each of these in a document and copy-paste them all at once when I vote.

That’s what I’m planning, Ala. Since the critique has no scoring with it. There is no best way, only that you’re comfortable with the method you use.

I'm slowly going insane waiting for critiques or comments. It's a lesson in patience. I hope to have time to start my own comments this weekend.

I am halfway through the critiques. Can't wait to see how the voting goes.

I am halfway through the critiques. Can't wait to see how the voting goes. I'm reading all of them twice before giving feedback because I have time to process this time! It's hard waiting for critiques but I also value those taking their time because that's what I'm doing, too.

I decided that I would base my comments as if I was doing a book review of the story for Amazon/GoodReads, but with a slightly more critical eye. I’ve always been a reader and though I respect the heck out of all editors, I doubt I would be a good one, hence mine are from a readers POV.
