Congratulations! This was a fun contest, both writing and reading. Some pieces in there I hope the writers continue.
Seeing the critiques across submissions shows me that good writers sometimes have very different opinions on what a piece needs.
Also curious, could people tell which piece was mine?
I *think* I labeled each entry with the correct author in the 200 Words forum. If I messed up, please let me know. Mine's correct. So, uh, you did exclude the right scores from the tallying, right? Since some people might've voted for themselves. |

I was so sorry to see that not everyone got the chance to critique....at least it looks that way.  Nevermind, seems there was only one disqualification. It felt like more. |

Hey you three; Foxxglove, Bird, and Alatariel. Congrats to you for such excellent stories and examples of an opening. I’ll also add in thanks to all who entered but at least for me, all the excellent comments I received.

Ah, great job FoxxGlove and Bird ! Two of my favorite entries. Definitely deserved to take the two top spots. This one is always a fun contest! ScintillaMyntan I had a hunch as to which one was yours, it seemed like your style of introspection and thoughtfulness.  |

Since some people might've voted for themselves. Question 1: No, I guessed wrong on almost everyone's entries.  Question 2: Yes, I thoroughly checked who voted on their own (once I remembered to get the list from Caulder), and grayed those numbers out on the spreadsheet so I didn't accidentally include them. Tallied everything three times. So I'm pretty sure, things are accurate. Sadly, b/c of the hit-and-miss number of votes the entries received, I was only able to use the first 7 votes, which irritated the crap out of me. Tallying things up using all the votes didn't change much though. |
