I opened a private message to Caulder and started filling in the template. Then I decided I wasn't happy with the opening sentences after all; they did feel kind of clunky, but I couldn't think how to fix them. I ended up writing two more versions of those sentences, which led to a cascade of minor changes throughout the piece, and finally I think I'm happy with it. I'll have another look at it in the morning before I submit.

—I also just peeked at it again before sending this post, and already I've changed a word.
