Harry's Lucky Radio The radio had quit a few days ago. Afraid that his unskilled hands would make it worse, Harry entrusted it to a repairman, who determined, "I don't know what to tell ya, Harry. There's nothin' to fix."
Harry spent the following days and nights pacing about his dingy apartment, waiting for it to emit anything other than white noise. He didn't know how, nor why, but it had been giving him glimpses into events that hadn't yet transpired. To his dismay, winning lottery numbers were supposed to be announced.
Finally, a voice crackled: "Fuck you, Harry." Then it was gone.

Air Waves
The vintage radio warms up. You turn the dials, but the old thing produces only white noise. Too bad. You like vintage things. Your house is full of antiques. You feel a kinship to them, and you’ve never understood why.
The static breaks. A voice coalesces, garbled. You turn the dial. The static clears by degrees. A news program? No. Shouting. A sports announcer? No. You recognize the voice as your own. You are shouting your name, then: “Turn it off! Turn it—”
Too late. The radio blasts this week’s #1 Hit: “Can’t Buy Me Love,” by the Beatles.

Both entries were amazing. I love the mystery and vague menace in both of them.
