Did everyone find our first contest of 2022 especially challenging? I sure did. If we learned something and enjoyed ourselves, the contest was a success, no matter who won.As for our winners!

I'll be at my mom's house today, so I'll have to make the badges when I get home this afternoon. Sorry about the delay!

Thanks. Foxxglove, that story was seriously skillful.
I, on the other hand, probably just got up there due to taking the prompt that literally, heh. I think I might've interpreted the prompt differently than most. I thought we were supposed to have the exact moment in the picture happen, someone dressed just like that walking through a place that looks just like that. It seems like others thought more of capturing the feel of the picture or having a character who's that mysterious.
I'm curious, could people tell which story was mine? I recognize a few of you — in a good way, that is, like "aww, there's that person, doing what they do!"
Fun contest. I liked the challenge of learning about something new and seeing everyone's takes on the same genre.

I'm surprised my story placed at all! Definitely my personal worst in terms of editing and writing. I had no time to go back and re-read once written. We had a huge family trip the second week of writing and I totally thought I had until Saturday to hone it. Y'all caught each and every mistake. Oof. Embarrassing. I meant to do more foreshadowing, plus I knew how to incorporate the photo, and had plans but....oh well. Word count plus time screwed me. So yes, definitely challenging. To answer your question ScintillaMyntan, yes I kind of guess which entry belonged to who. I'm catching onto your styles. Super fun reads! You and FoxxGlove did great! And RAVENEYE had such a chilling story, too. How did you think of it?! How did all of you think of your stories? So unique.

Congratulations to all winners and, indeed, everyone who entered, even those who ended up not qualifying. Each story was a unique and entertaining read. Loved the diversified takes and the challenge was certainly that...a challenge...!!! Can't believe I took top honors and really think it was actually Raveneye who came in first but, as always, she removes herself from the running. In any event, I'm pleased my little story went over so well. Thank you to everyone who took the time to read it.
