Between The Lines
Alfie Winterflood, jack-of-all-trades at the local fairground, was up to almost any task. Welder needed? Alfie had his blowtorch. Something needed tightening? Alfie always carried a screwdriver. Squeaky hinges? Alfie was a wizard with an oilcan. He was handyman extraordinaire with a wide range of capabilities.
But then, Alfie was unique in many ways. Every inch of his skin sported a tattoo, his hands particularly intriguing. Facing outward, thumbs together, they formed an owl butterfly with wings that appeared to flutter in flight. Even more remarkable, the palms themselves revealed no heart line, no head line and certainly no life line.
