Some of the long sentences tripped me up when I first read it, but eventually I came to appreciate this is as part of the story's slow, rolling rhythm. It makes the entry feel like a folktale told in the oral tradition. You also have such lush, vivid imagery. I love this piece.

Hehe, yeah, I've been studying so much classical literature lately while writing this Victorian historical novel that I'm afraid those antiquated long sentence forms have corrupted my writing voice forever. Oh well.

Haha, woops! It's both frustrating and cool when you realize what you've been reading has unconsciously seeped into your writing.

Honestly, I can't wait till this WIP is over so I can get back to reading contemporary fantasy. But, then, my vocabulary seems to have improved. Good grief, did you know the Bronte sisters used to play games with the dictionary?! Who among us does that these days? Their writing kinda makes me feel barbaric and dumb.
