It feels wonderful and strange to by typing my intro on Legendfire once again. I was a moderator on the old site and desperately missed the community.
Welcome back from the Ashes!
I'm a relatively normal and boring person. Recently I've realized my list of hobbies is seriously lacking. That's because most of my time is devoured by my two daughters (ages 2 and 7) and writing. Any free time goes to either chilling on the couch binge watching something stupid, or writing. Lately, it's been a lot of binge watching and a small amount of the other thing.
My genres are YA fantasy, paranormal/horror, and speculative fiction. I enjoy science fiction, but only the soft stuff. My mind turns to mush reading hard sci/fi though I secretly wish I could love it. I enjoy reading anything with a mystery attached...usually a mystery involving something strange and unnatural. I hate reading real life drama, though I love watching it in shows.
Before I was a mother, I did a ton of theater. Both on and off stage. If I went back, I'd want to do backstage mostly. Acting is less appealing that in once was, it doesn't hold the same luster. I have a degree in Theater and Performance Studies from UC Berkeley...something I often forget. But it happened. And I loved it at the time. Then I had to make a choice, pursue an MFA or motherhood. I was edging 26 and knew I wanted a family. Soon. And I knew MFA programs were typically 3 years long. So, I said good-bye to that life and became a mom. Which I adore and do not regret one bit.
I also worked for a long time with animals at the SPCA as a behavior specialist. So if you have any questions about positive reinforcement, learning theory, or wanna talk about how awesome Ken Ramirez is, feel free to message me.
That's enough for now.
Overjoyed our beloved LF is back.
