"Self-Reflection"
The mirror shows me what I do not wish to see.
In the cracked glass, there are eight of me. Fractured, a puzzle tossed on the floor. Lips where eyes should be, cheekbones off-kilter, left ear missing, in the manner of a Cubist nightmare. Examined together, the facets are grotesque, deformed, erratic.
But look again. The shade of my eye, the curve of my jaw. Facets of myself: unique in all human history. A truth that cannot be unmade. When I am gone, these shards will remember: they shouted my existence in silent echo.
Broken or not, I am beautiful.

Aw, man! I've been forgetting to add my points, for entering an entry too! Anyway, thanks! I loved the prompt, and the free write for it ended up going in a direction I didn't expect. Not nearly as dark as I intended it to be. Lots of fun.
