... and tell us your name, your major, and a fun fact about yourself.” Does anyone actually remember anything about your classmates until it gets mentioned again in group work? I feel like the panic just washes it immediately away.
Anyway! I have had many names, but this one sounds a bit like Caulder. I'm a CS major in the University of Wisconsin system, about to graduate this year and end a 10-year long attempt to get a degree under my belt and my life on track. And I was part of the old Legendfire, may its bones rest in peace while its spirit takes off like a phoenix and lights up a whole new part of the heavens.
I love Nightwish, my personal space, and the Oxford comma. I’ll stand no slander of either. And of course, writing! I have a million stories on the burner, but I've only ever "finished" one. I pretty much only write fantasy and what might be called speculative fiction, since I've never really gotten the horror parts down quite right. Other things? I'm an avid gamer; mainly RPGs, horror, and anything indie with a great story, though Guild Wars 2 is my one official MMO time sink. Symphonic metal is my jam. I also like to dabble in artsy things like piano, violin, acrylic paints, and sketching with colored pencils.
That feels like enough for now. Look forward to meeting some new folks!
Na lû e-govaned vîn!

Ah hahaha.
I dislike the "tell us a fun fact about yourself" ice breakers.
I'd say nice to meet you, but I already KNOW you, so that's silly. *waves*

Hey Caulder! Glad to see you again. I've gotten into symphonic/folk metal too. Recommendations?

Jeffrey aka Pelwrath or just Pel. I’ve a BS in Education and a MS in Operations Management. I currently manage a 12hr night shift, today is an off day. I’ve finally gotten my first book beta read, revised, edited, revised and checked again. Next stop will be self publishing, hopefully by years end. Not really sure about anything overly interesting but if anyone had a question I’ll be happy to answer.

Jay - I'm trying to think of everything I've picked up since LF closed LOL
I'd say Nightwish, Epica, and Xandria are still my top three pure symphonic powerhouses. Although Xandria just pulled like half their albums so you may have to find their early stuff on youtube. So stupid. Edenbridge has some good stuff that's lighter symphonic. Oh and of course, Kamelot. Tarja's had a really good solo career too. I'm just now trying our Dark Sarah as well (Dance With the Dragon is amazing). And Amberian Dawn is a little more speed metal lately, but if you check out Circus Black and earlier albums, the lead singer was much more soprano.
Triddana and Skiltron are I guess folk metal? It's literally bagpipes and metal hahahaha. Elvenking is a great one from that genre too.
I'm also become a huge fan of In This Moment, but now we're getting into more traditional metal so I'll shut up XD

Um I'm Dani/Kami/Yugure, I started as a Clarinet Performance major but switched to Computer Information Systems and got my expensive BS degree in that. I'm might have interesting aspects, but I am very mysterious and must maintain that mystery on some level so I refuse to answer the third item. Glad to have you to help tear things up, here. We can all use some chaotic good/chaotic neutral energy in our lives.
