LegendFire needs you! We are looking for volunteers to fill two different roles. Help our beloved community grow. We are hopeful that LF's members, veteran and new, will consider taking the reins in one of two capacities, either as a Forum Leader or as a Project Aide. Keep reading to find out what these positions entail.
In the old LF, “Forum Leader” was our name for our moderators. If the idea of modding a forum isn’t to your taste, no worries. This time around, “Forum Leader” comes with almost zero modding responsibilities.
The title describes the role precisely. As Forum Leader, you will:
 lead activities and keep an eye on posts in a single forum
use your creative and innovative brain to launch new activities in your forum
search the web far and wide for new and appropriate material to contribute to your forum
POST SOMETHING NEW IN YOUR FORUM AT LEAST ONCE PER WEEK
recruit Project Aides from among our members to help you in your responsibilities
participate in discussions in the moderator forum
report problems to the mods and/or administrator
 Note: this is a long-term commitment
Wait, Project Aide? What’s that?
A Project Aide is a temporary activity helper and material collector. Temporary is key. The idea is to rotate fresh ideas, perspectives, and skillsets through the forums, and to prevent a forum from getting stuck in a rut. An Aide is designed to serve in their role for 3 to 6 months. Once their rotation is complete, an Aide may then volunteer to serve in a different forum (if the forum leader is currently lacking an Aide). If an Aide particularly enjoys helping out in a particular forum, they need only put their name in to help when the next rotation ends.
As Project Aide, you will:
help a single forum leader collect new and useful material for your forum
help your forum leader with any activities occurring in your forum
communicate directly with your forum leader to brainstorm new ways to make your forum interesting and helpful to the community
serve in this role for a time period of 3-6 months -- there's no long-term commitment!
wait 3-6 months before helping in that particular forum again (or the period of the next rotation)
If no volunteers are available, consecutive service is allowed on a one-time basis. After two terms it is encouraged to help elsewhere or take a break.
How Do I Apply?
If you’re interested in becoming a Forum Leader, please PM Raveneye.*
If you’re interested in volunteering as a Project Aide, contact the Forum Leader in charge of a particular forum, or post in this thread below. Each Forum Leader’s name is listed on the main board, below the description of the forum they lead.
A forum needs a Forum Leader before the role of Project Aide can be filled. If we have more volunteers for PA than slots available, we will put your name in the queue and you will be called upon for the next rotation.

* Volunteer Positions are filled on a first-come-first-served basis and are retained at Raveneye's discretion: if you volunteer, be present. Absent Forum Leaders and Aides will be replaced. ** Because posts in Writing Games do not contribute to a member’s post count, the Forum Leader and Project Aide who lead this forum will instead receive 10 Easy Honor Points for EVERY NEW GAME THEY POST.

Do you want to learn how to do that, Ala? It's so simple (it's like literally three clicks), once I learned it I realized I was going about things the hard way. I encourage you to try it and see. If things go awry, I can step in. If I've set permissions correctly, these instructions should work: Click Scintilla's name to go to her profile page. Click on the "Groups" tab. Scroll down the list of groups to "Project Aide." Beneath "Project Aide" you ought to see a tiny link that says "Add this member to group." Click it. Nothing appears to happen except that link changes to "Remove member from this group." When you refresh the page, Scintilla's name ought to turn green with green stars beneath it. When Scintilla's three months are up, you'll need to click that "Remove member from this group" link (unless she immediately becomes an Aide in another forum, that is). |

If you still need Forum Leaders, I'd be willing to jump in. I know I haven't been around as much lately, but now that Tax Season is done, I should have a lot more time. And I want to be more involved in the site. I miss it here.
