Winner Takes It All
I readily agree to my brother's request for an empire building rematch.
This time, however, the chosen location is the double forked quagmire where the Path of Righteousness converges with the Path of Good Intentions.
But what will be the name of the game?
I suggest Risk.
He finds it too one-sided, given my flair for militarism.
He suggests Life.
Too simplistic, counting and reading being the only necessary skills.
We decide on Chess.
He summons his Host of Unsullied.
I summon my Horde of Undead.
His pieces are, of course, white.
"Two out of three then?"
Nods.
"Your move."

Gingerbread House
1 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon allspice
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup sugar
1 cup flour
¼ cup oil
½ cup water
1 egg
1 gingerbread man
1 dash laughter
1 pinch nostalgia
Set gingerbread man aside. Mix other ingredients in electric mixer until dough forms. Chill. Roll out on floured surface. Cut sides of house and roof pieces according to template. Attach sides of house together with icing (see pg. 102). Carefully attach roof. Decorate with icing, candy, chocolates, etc. according to gingerbread man’s specifications. He is rather bossy. Enter house. Serve with tea and memories.
