I would like seeing how highlighting and crossing out word(s) and inserting comments between words can work better. Like how Scribophile does. Clicking to insert critique, colors designating actions you take. Not that I want LegendFire to become Scribophile 2.0. I feel a robust system will benefit us. Can be completely unique to us or inspired.

While I would second such features in a heartbeat, the more practical side of my brain is wondering such things are even possible one this platform. My experience thus far has me leaning towards no.

That sounds lovely. Especially the color designation. Only, understand that this is not a custom-built site like the last one. If ProBoards does not offer it, I don't know that we can change it. Yep, it's primitive and basic. Things like this made me wish I was a programmer. Cuz that sounds awesome.

Okay, that is an awesome idea. If we have a proficient and willing JavaScript programmer among us, it could possibly be done? I found the location in the layout templates for the "Create Post" where this would need to be implemented. The layout looks similar to the Razor pages we've been using this semester, where you can blend markup and programming code in the same page. So I don't think we'd need access to anything special. Only thing is, a lot of the sample codes that I've looked up on the ProBoards forums says "Don't use these on V5 because they won't work." So it's really a toss-up unless someone wants to mess around with script tags and find out if it's still functional. ProBoards seems to have gotten a bit stingier with what they want users to be able to do. And that could also be a lot of code involved.
I'm definitely not the one to do it LOL. Don't like it. Don't get it. I can handle any other language you throw at me but JS baffles me to no end. Also being the only person in my group that's doing any effing coding on our project has left a very sour taste in my mouth regarding JS and I'm sure has affected my ability to learn it but whatever.
But yeah. That would be super cool. Make line-editing a whole lot easier, for sure.

I'm not a programmer, but I did teach myself some JavaScript. I'm willing to take a look if you can hook me up with the source code.

If you wanna experiment, I can hook you up on Remnants as a testing ground. Honestly, from some of the sample codes, I feel like it's gonna be a looooot of code involved. But could be fun to mess around with and see what we can actually do.

Saw your PMs. Thanks so much. I'll have fun digging into this over the weekend. Now where'd I put that shovel?

Wow, it would be so cool if you could get this to work, doublejay9 ! Have fun playing with it. And if it doesn't work out, that's fine too.

Completely forgot I made this thread. Cool! See what works and what does not.
