I just wanted to add something to this:  

When formatting your posts using the preview editor, you may encounter issues with line spacing between paragraphs.  This is most commonly seen when copy/pasting a large amount of formatted text in from a word processor.  The editor cannot reflect the formatting properly until some event allows it to process what you have pasted in, and so while the post looks pristine when you finally hit post, afterwards.... eh.  Not so much.  

To get around this, after pasting in your text, toggle the editor window first to the BBCode view, and then back to Preview view by using the buttons at the bottom left:



This will force the editor to parse your text, and display the true formatting.  The mystery lines will be forced to appear now rather than later.  Now you can edit in one fell swoop without needing to re-edit to take all those pesky tabs or mysteriously appearing extra lines out!
