National Novel Writing Month. (NaNoWriMo.org)
Instead of tossing out the usual weekly challenges we're doing something a little different. As many members are participating in this event (myself included) We are instead challenging you to post on challenges posted already that you haven't yet joined. Consider this a "Catch Up" month for those that feel they weren't able to keep up.
Have fun, enjoy and happy writing!

Yeah, and I'm a total dork, which occurred to me just as I was falling asleep last night. NaNoWriMo just got going, and I was THIS CLOSE to launching a contest this weekend. We can't do that! How rude that would be. So I'll post about that in the Announcements forum, and we'll launch the contest first part of December. How does that sound? And I'm working on a year-round contest schedule, like we had before, but not in the same order. Point is: Yes, do challenges! We will do challenges! There are lots of challenges to start playing with. And Interactive Writing! There's a Cluedo waiting to start, if anyone needs something to do while we wait for December to roll around. I think I have my hands full getting this place started and two novels I'm working on, but I'll happily read the mystery as it unfolds.

But I always recover from a hard day's writing to hit 50k with... more writing!!!
Nah, actually recovering from Nano for me involves a lot of whiskey and yelling at Twitter. So thanks for giving us a contest break. Back with renewed vigour and inspiration in December.

So thanks for giving us a contest break. Back with renewed vigour and inspiration in December. Yeah, I can see that method of recovery being the reality for the majority of NaNo folks. Hell, I'd hit week three and resort to it. Sheesh, I have no idea how you people manage it.

This year drinking started week one. Not that it was NaNo that started it. >.>

Just making sure the point of this thread isn't lost amid the nonsense:
During November as we prepare for our first contest and try to conquer the NaNo frenzy, there's no need to be bored around here. There are MANY THINGS TO DO:
Challenges for Honor Points
Cluedo! in Interactive Writing
Games and general shenanigans
Critiquing
Bribing all your writing buddies to join the community before our contest kicks off in December.
