Have any of you seen that sorta thing?
So when you have a finalized cover art, you break it up into puzzle pieces - however many you want. Over the course of a few days, you post very mysteriously one or two at a time. You know, making people think "Whats this dude?" At the end is when people notice, and they get super hyped!
Idk... I've thought of doing this for my novel. And with the final image, posting some kind of book YouTube trailer.

Do you have a link to one? Would love to see it in action.

Do you have a link to one? Would love to see it in action. Ah... I knew there was one topic thread I forgot to reply to lately. SO - I found one guy who did it years ago. He just recorded himself answering questions in a fairly monotonus way. Then, revealed a section of the cover art against a black screen. Very uninspiring. My idea is to have final cover art cut up into puzzle pieces. Have some animation or some sound effects/voice acting from the audiobook with it as it "fades in". Keep doing that with progressively more teaser moments until you get the full image. A halfway example was for Halo 5's campaign. 343 Industries started dropping images of something months before what.. E3 2015? They started putting them in the Halo Waypoint forums, back when people used them. If I can remember correctly. People were thinking "What the heck is this?" But after a bunch were shared around, they got smart! They started noticing little details, like Spartan armor and a planet. People joined in and realized that they were putting together a cover art. For days it was like this. The more puzzle pieces were assembled and shown, the more hyped players got. And THEN the full artwork was revealed. A massive forum post was accompanied by an official reveal blog from 343. We shouldn't go THAT far. Its that getting people hyped like that can be memorable.

We gotta figure out a way to do this.
