Oh yeah, I remember studying that character type in college. Had to read quite a bit of Byron, and his poetry definitely shows he was that type of person.
My fantasy saga character Thorn Kingshield is most certainly a Byronic hero. Those descriptors fit him exactly. Nice. Hadn't considered that before.

Thomas Frost from my Shepard Mysteries novella series checks all the boxes of this trope.

Byron was the heart throb, self destructive type and his heroes reflected this nature of him. The James Dean of his day if you will. SO haveing elements of this in a more modern setting has always been a decent idea to draw from.
