O Mother
"Mother, O Mother, I am your humble servant," I whispered into the void. The cavern echoed back: Mother, O Mother... your... servant...
"'Tis Kora, Mother," I pressed further, desperation lacing my voice. Weakly, I drew as close to the chasm's edge as I dared. "I've completed the tasks you've asked of me. Please. They are coming. It is time to exact the retribution I desire."
Shouts reverberated behind me. Lights flickered.
A multitude of crimson eyes shone. I allowed slender, monstrous legs to draw me into its embrace, into the abyss.
"I shall bring retribution, dear one," rasped Mother.
