What character deserved better?

We all know at least one who met a bad ending and made us throw the book or turn off the show/movie. I can think of at least three!

Was it the sarcastic but loyal best friend of the main character? The reluctant hero? The girlfriend/wife/mother who got fridged?

Write an alternative scene or ending! It's like fan fiction, the world and character already exists but YOU are in charge.
