I am a Stream
STYLE: CENTO
Behold the rocky wall,
That down its sloping sides. (1)
Tell me little streamlet, (2)
Muffled safely under snow. (3)
Glad as childish laughter
Sweet as a birds voice after daybreak. (4)
Singing in a cadence known,
To the seraphs round the throne. (5)
And dreamy thoughts will o’er me steal,
While listening to the water wheel. (6)
Bear to the meadow the hymn of the pines
And the echo that rings where the waterfall shines. (7)
I make a sudden sally.
And sparkle out among the fern, (8)
As streams flowing down from mountains
By windings no mortal can wist. (9)
