Looks like lots of fun places to submit pieces or write something new. Or maybe you just need a prompt idea to get you going on practice work. Time-sensitive.
These magazines/podcasts pay for genre fiction – fantasy, science fiction, horror, mystery, crime, and more. They also want a variety of sub-genres – one magazine publishes furry fiction, another publishes cozy fantasy, one wants fun science fiction, and one, atmospheric horror. Many do not specify the sub-genres they want in their guidelines, but as always, reading the work available on the website gives you a good feel for their preferences. A few also accept other genres, like nonfiction and poetry. Not all of them are open for submissions now, but many are, or have announced when they will open next. They’re listed in no particular order. – S. Kalekar
HDSimplicityy: Editing Chapter 3 is dooone... for now. At last! That took longer than I thought, and it was hard.

RAVENEYE: Ugh, finally home for the rest of the summer. I hope. I am so exhausted. What did I miss the past two weeks? Out of the looooop.

RAVENEYE: Be sure to read up on as many as you can before discussion starts at 8 pm US Central.

RAVENEYE: And, yes, I forgot to read them, so I'm cramming for tonight.

RAVENEYE: Whew, read all the poems and scribbled down a thought or two for each one. That was ... a lot. Teach me to wait till the last day. Eesh. Gonna be reading one a day from now on.

Alatariel: OH man, yea, I've known her for at least a decade. Since her first series only had three books. Now she has three series and over a 15 books.

pelwrath: Ala, what’s her best series?
Jul 24, 2024 20:41:31 GMT -6
Alatariel: I enjoyed Throne of Glass, for what it was...the first book is predictable and childish, and the second book has it's problems, but the series gets better with every books until the last one just blows you out of the water.

Alatariel: I haven't read ACOTAR beyond the first book and half of the second. I couldn't get through it. And I'm probably never going to read Crescent City though it's her most ambitious series with insanely complex world-building. Just not my cuppa.
Jul 25, 2024 16:51:28 GMT -6
Alatariel: I recommend Throne of Glass to a lot of people who have never read fantasy and want a starter series
