Rolling Weekly - May 14th- 20th - "Mother"

I recall the figure that, as a child, lurked in my closet at night. Tormented my dreams and made me cry out in a cold sweat whenever it drew close.

Mother knew best: "Whenever you feel frightened, cover your face and count to ten. This," she produced a strange doll, "is a 'poppet.' It'll protect you, give you good dreams." I never knew where she'd gotten it, but it worked.

She passed last week, and I've returned to the old house. To my old room.

It was waiting.

But this time, with neither a mother nor charm to help me.
