BEST OF THREE
This barren desert, where a scorching sun percolates the sand to shimmering shards and even the hardy cactus refuses to thrive, is the ideal location for our end game. We are one-for-one. The stakes could not be higher.
And now, it all comes down to this.
He reveals his cards, smile triumphant and gloating.
"Full House!"
My bluff has worked very nicely and I finally allow a smirk to invade my lips. It is gratifying to see his crestfallen expression.
"Royal Flush!"
An unbeatable hand.
My poor brother is totally crushed in his defeat.
He did so want the heavens.

The Professor is Always Right
They placed their signature on the parchment as they waited for their lesson about assassination. A panel on the wall to their left, slid open. Hands on their daggers, they investigated the panel, one remained sitting, a garrote about his neck, their instructor, Uxator holding it. They drew their daggers and he spoke.
“That is lesson one, deception. Now, lesson two.” He quickly pulled and twisted the garrote, the trainees neck broke, and the body slumped. “I told him I had a full house, but he insisted. Take this to the cemetery and see you learn to avoid that fate.”
