pelwrath - I got one for you. Now, I can't remember what color Agate's hair is, but this is very much how I imagined her:  Prompt: closeup of middle-aged vampire woman, business attire, modern city in background, night, neon lights, photorealistic --ar 2:3 --c 100 --v 4 I didn't prompt for fangs, since Zeph said fangs don't show unless a vamp goes feral (did I remember that right?) She's sorta half-feral in this pic.  None of the results were photorealistic (needed to choose a different setting and forgot to), and MidJourney seems to think "middle-aged" is 60+ (WTF) so one of the results was a granny. This one though turned out lovely.

OMG, that is a brilliant prompt! ================= Also, I'm now a MidJourney subscriber. Went with the cheapest sub plan to see if I actually make use of it. $8/month is worth it, given how much I'm loving this. I mean, I'd rather prompt for paintings than game or watch movies in the evening -- and it's totally distracted me from my novel. So... I'd say it's worth it. For now. Okay, gonna apply some of these things I'm learning on Discord. But I don't think I'll come up with anything as cool as Luke Skywalker Noir style. Though I'm gonna try. |

Wow, that Fabuki result is gorgeous! How did I miss that earlier? Figure crossing a peat bog... I wanted a transparent ghost coming out of the mist, but got this gorgeous story image instead. I really want to write this story, whatever it is. Who are those shadowy people in the distance? What is in the woman's pack? Why is she here? I have no idea. Prompt: misty smoky ghost of an unhappy woman traversing peat bog, mountains in background, fantasy story, gloomy, octane render, cinematic lighting --c 100 --ar 2:3 Maybe I should've just said "a transparent ghost coming out of the mist"? LOL, oh well.  Just so you know, I've gotten zero writing done since discovering MidJourney. |

That's super cute.  Though thinking about this in depth.... I guess for me, I am uncertain how I feel about AI art. I think I'd be more interested in it IF the training sets used to make the AI engines weren't stealing people's art to do it. There's been a LOT of pressure from artists furious at their work being used without permission to train these engines. Some art places are starting to draft legal stuff to prohibit using the art for training sets. So it's a quagmire of legal stuff at the moment. I think if the AI engine created a training dataset that used only art for which it had permission, then I'd be more willing to enjoy AI art generation. I really think the ethics of how these training sets are set up needs to be examined and worked out properly. It's the same with that ChatGPT, which is AI writing, as they stole a lot of writing works to create a training dataset. There's another AI generation, which only used the creative works in public domain or with permission that works decently well - I can't remember it's name as it was more of an AI writing one instead of art. |
