Beyond
Besides the soft hum of the reactor, it was quiet in this part of the ship. Tranquil, even. Not often accessed beyond routine inspections, but the crew had noticed their readings spike abnormally. Intermittently. False readings became expected during transit through a meteor field or orbit or similar. After checking every fuse and panel, and for potential radiation leaks, she transmitted to the main deck, "Major Harper, reporting. Reactor center, clear. Everything-" She awoke in the medical bay, dazed. Not remembering how she'd arrived, but remembering... Darkened vision. A heaviness. A voice spoke from within: " Your. Kind. Shouldn't. Be. Here."

Um, yeah, this entry totally blew me away. When I read it, I said to myself, "Drop. Mic. Walk. Away." Didn't compete cuz, like, I can't even.
Congrats, Mazulla. Loved it.
