I have a spark of an idea but not sure what type of setting to weave the story into, my natural instinct is something I've done over and over (setting wise) before but I can't think of any other setting that works as well. Same here. I just went with the setting I know the best, which probably will give away which is mine, but what the heck.

Oh, mine's probably recognizable as mine.
I got up to 451 words last night. One thing is proving harder to come up with than I expected; I somehow assumed filling in this gap would be the easy part, but it's not. And I need to figure it out soon because it affects the protagonist's motivation and choices throughout the whole thing.
Anyone else signing up? You've got time, three weeks of it.

Okay, I finally have something I can live with. I think it sucks but it meets the requirement, kind of, sorta, maybe. So ad my name. 973 words as of tonight. My three previosu attempts didn't get past 350.

I know there is an upper limit word count, but is there a lower limit? In other words, is there a minimum set number of words to be met for the contest entry?

So. This story is NOT what I intended to write. Kinda love when that happens. But also I have no idea where it's going. I know the general theme I want to convey but as far as the plot or action...no plans. Just seeing where it takes me. The characters are writing themselves and sometimes that's good and sometimes that's disastrous. It can lead to useless nonsense.
But here's a reminder: we are our own worst critics. Every time I think I write something terrible, it actually turns out to be enjoyed by others. So...I'm gonna try to let this story happen organically without my inner critic forcing me to stop before it even gets started.

Does any story end up as what we intended? You're right about being our own wrost critic. What I have so far is gelling. It's me, I've no illusion that I could slip a story past you without knowing it was mine. I have, no we all have a voice, a style that can be unique. Yet, that's what readers of our books like and to disapoint a reader, intentionally, would be something I'd never do, to those who buy them and to you my peers. A passion for writting, becomes a passion in writting.

Scintilla, You have this name for who to submit our story's to: sceoquethan. Is this a typo? No, that's me. That is my True Name according to the site, the way Raveneye's is admin. So basically, message the entry to me.

"sceoquethan" would be how you tag Scintilla in a post, like this: "@ sceoquethan" (without the space after @) becomes this: ScintillaMyntan in a post, but if you type "ScintillaMyntan" into the recipient field of a private message, her username will pop up as ScintillaMyntan.

Sounds like the muse has turned up? Well, she's a bit reluctant but she did put in an appearance. What she came up with is a tad wishy-washy, but we'll see if something can be made of it. Not giving up the ghost just yet.
