Dubious gift
'Gift' may be interpreted broadly: birthday presents, gifts from nature or the divine, something a stranger put in your hands, trash offered by a well-meaning pet, suspiciously large horse statues for the Trojans, and so on.
• If you go with a less-literal gift, such as an inborn talent, please explicitly describe it as a 'gift' at least once
• You don't need to use the exact phrase "dubious gift"
Specifications
• Up to 3,000 words, hard limit
• Short fiction: may be in the form of prose, a play, even a narrative epic — as long as it's a story

1) Online poll. When the contest is closed, I will post a link to an online poll where you may rank your choices from first to last. If you submitted an entry, you must fill in your username along with your vote and rank your own piece last. Non-entrants may vote anonymously. Results will not be visible to voters to avoid embarrassment.
2) A simple critique on EACH entry. Each entrant is required to additionally post at least a short, simple critique on all entries except for their own. (You may 'critique' your own as well to preserve anonymity). This could just be a quick comment about your reactions and suggestions.
Winners
An additional 100 Hard Honor Points for all other place winners, for a total of 200
(Contestants must edit their Honor Points themselves within their profile settings, under the "Personal" tab.)
