Title: Corruption (Might change later)Genre: Sci-fi/FantasyGoal: To write something everyday. Hitting 50k would be a wonderful bonus.Feedback: Anything and everything. Feel free to ask questions, it'll help me create an answer.  I'm not sure exactly what I'll be posting. At the moment planning on using this as a check in thread and maybe a journal?

Protagonist(s) POV will be split between twins who are the protagonists of the story.
Name: Theadora (Thea)
Element: Shadow
Personality: Scatterbrained, night owl, sunshine child
Goal: Become a master researcher
Strengths: Good at thinking on the fly
Weaknesses: Too trusting, easily taken advantage of
Name: Iris
Element: Light
Personality: Outgoing, organised, morning person, hard worker
Goal: To stay true to herself
Strengths: Charismatic, easily makes friends
Weaknesses: Easily stressed when something doesn't go according to plan.
Main antagonist: A secret that I'm hoping will be an epic plot twist
Current antagonist:
Name: Teufel (Demon in German)
Description: Fear in physical form. Has key features, red eyes, sharp teeth, claws.
Abilities: Feeds off a person's fear and grows stronger, forces people to relive fears,
Currently being held at the wall, occasionally manage to break through but have yet to make it to the main city centre. (Emphasis on the yet)

First writing session complete. So far I have a dream of a memory from when they were younger.
"I might as well start getting ready, it's almost dawn." Iris sighed.
"Gross."
I feel as though I embody both of these sentiments on a regular basis.

Okay, a baddie who forces you to relive fears is truly awful. I'm feeling anxiety rising when reading that phrase. Awesome! That's the goal! I realised while zoning out on the train that they're essentially a cross between a boggart and a dementor (with some other stuff thrown in for fun). I have a pinterest inspo board full of nightmare fuel. |

I'm two for two! Finished yesterday's scene and onto second twin's POV. Had fun trying to find her chaotic voice that separates her from her more organised sister.
Thea is the kind of person who has 87 tabs open and four of them are playing music.

3/11/22 Day 3 complete! Finished Thea's POV scene now back to Iris tomorrow. Even managed to do some yoga after work.

Managed 30mins of writing which is an achievement in itself for a Friday.

The best part about the weekend is I can write in the mornings instead of at night. My brain works better then, too bad I waste that time at work during the week.

6/11/22 Migraine day, I wrote a couple of sentences for continuing the habit but spent most of the day resting. 7/11/22 Wrote all the words. Finally have ten pages written so I can figure out my average. (Writing by hand makes word count difficult) 465 words per page so just need 108 pages to make 50k.  |

I remember those days. 108 pages does sound daunting for a month's goal. YOU CAN DO IT! Luckily (for my hand) it's just the first draft, I find for the initial brain dump my words flow better with a pen in hand. I couldn't imagine editing and rewriting sections by hand. Ctrl + C/V and Ctrl + F are my friends. |
