Hey, folks. Several new skins/themes are available to dress up your forum experience. They are: Moon
Shock
Black Widow
The Nostromo
In GearThese are all thanks to Caulder Melhaire who found them and uploaded them for us. They add definite personality to the boards, and will likely appeal to our speculative fiction writers. Spacy, creepy, Steampunky. They're all fixed width, so older in style, but quite a bit fancier in decor than the first batch of themes we've had. Test them out. If you find anything that's awful or unbearable or non-functioning on any of them, please let me know, and I'll do my best to fix the issue. |

Thank you. I'm using Moon now. Previously I didn't want to switch away from the default because tan is just so associated with LegendFire for me, but maybe a change of scenery would be fun and help me think about writing a little differently or something, since this site is so connected in my head with writing in general.
The only thing with all these themes is having to think about what'll be visible on everyone's screens when we choose other font colors for critiquing or making headings in our posts or whatever. I guess dark-ish, vivid colors are the safest bet? |

Woo! That made me want to try and make a custom skin as a little side project.
I thought I'd only have to play around with a stylesheet but I looked more into it, I found I'd need to start my own forum to make a theme.

Well, good thing is that you can make a ProBoards forum for free and keep it in maintenance mode so no one can join it. And if you don't advertise it, no one will know to look for it either. So there's that, if you want to try building skins. |
