Indivisible
The twins were adorable, the dark haired boy with his polka dot necktie and the girl with blonde pigtails and plaid grosgrain ribbon. Perfectly behaved, they were never known to whine or demand. To find more exemplary children would have been a hopeless task.
Everyone listened and smiled with delight when they trilled, "Sing A Rainbow."
"Sing everything you see.
"I can sing a rainbow...
"Sing along with me."
Rather less enchanting, however, was when they turned their heads simultaneously, blinked as one and added in unison with the same mechanical tone:
"Thank you. This is a recording."

Reminiscing
On his front porch wearing a plaid kilt, smoking a golden pipe, shades of gray rainbows coming from it.
His eyes scanned the darkness of abandoned buildings and untended fields that surrounded his house. He reminisced on earlier times. It sounded like a great idea, get off your butt and see the world. He discovered many things about people. Greed being something he could manipulate. However, after two hundred years, no one came. His power was fools’ gold, wealth begot laziness and that destroyed mankind. His wife called and asked.
“Midas dear, what do you want for dinner?”
