Going to have 2 weeks of staycation coming up (well, sort of - working on a roofing job), aiming to try and put together the few things I can when I get the chance.

Oh! To everyone who participated in the 100 Word Weekly contest, I should make it clear that the Compendium is taking any winning entries from last September forward. So starting with "Fine China" which was first week of September: forum.legendfire.com/thread/684/rolling-weekly-sept-11th-china which pelwrath won.
The cut off date for 100 Word Weeklies will be the last week of August.
Hoping that helps everyone decide what to send in.

Not sure I'll submit anything this time around. I really don't think I've come up with anything that warrants inclusion. Don't want to bring down the entire tone of the publication.

A lot of your work definitely warrants inclusion. You will not bring down the entire tone of the publication.

I can send you a nudge on Discord, but the rest is up to you. Stick it on a calendar that will bing you or something? oh geesh, I didn't even finish writing ... brain fog is a doozy. I can't remember now what I was going to say.
I find email reminders helpful to be honest Or discord tagged reminders. It's very hard to see any notifications from the board without me going looking for it. So as long as the email reminders are still the same as last year, then that's fine. I wish I could remember what i was trying to ask there. I don't even remember posting that. Brain fog sucks.
For the 200 word contest we just had -- that is an acceptable entry, right? Despite it definitely not being the entire story? It feels weird to submit when it's only an hook.
Also, I know I didn't submit to the poetry contest in time -- is submitting a poem (that I've only ever posted in the forum but not to any contest) okay to submit? Trying to make sure I am not confusing myself.

Foxxglove, your writing is amazing! I feel like I have a hard time just keeping up with you! Not that writing is a competition, but still! Your skill pushes me to try harder, dig deeper, take my imagination places it wouldn't go otherwise. You know what this is? It's classic Imposter Syndrome. Read about it here: www.well-storied.com/blog/eight-ways-writers-can-combat-imposter-syndromeThe main purpose of the Compendium is to help push our Legendfirians past this debilitating obstacle. You have proven to me how critical the Compendium is. That said, it's definitely up to you whether or not you submit your work, and I will honor your decision.

Gosh, Bird, that does suck! Scary. Anyway, yep, the 200 Word contest is included, just like last year. And we're not taking any stories/poems/excerpts that were not in contests. So only contest entries, just like last year. The only thing that's different this year is the In Retrospect section, which will include 2021 content not included in the 2021 Compendium.

Many thanks to Bird and Raveneye for their words of encouragement. Given these rallying comments from two such talented and respected writers, perhaps some of my stuff is worthy of inclusion after all. I will work on sorting the wheat from the chaff over the next week or two. And thank you both again for your faith.

Can I see a sample BIO format please? Thanks Yes, of course! Here are the first two from last year's issue, which is for Foxxglove and myself: Just a little something about yourself and/or your writing journey. And don't worry about the format, I'll handle that bit.
