Been listening a lot to Phoebe Bridgers' Punisher lately. A very nuanced and lonely listen. I'm not really a lyrics-person, but I love the way she writes and delivers the lyrics on this record. A section from my favourite song off the album: Just
On the other end of the music spectrum, I've also been listening to Thou and Emma Ruth Rundle's May Our Chambers Be Full. Love how the songs move between thick, gothic dreaminess and aggressive catharsis.

My favourite Jpop group's main singers went on this channel The First Take the other day. They get Japanese music artists to record a song live in one take. I can tell you as a fan who has watched many live performances of theirs, they are really nervous in this. I think the last song I posted here was from them too so I'm sorry for "spamming" them but I wanted to share this because I loved it.

Probably have listened to FireFlight's Who We Are: The Head and the Heart eight to ten times on Spotify since it was released last year. I grew up with this band alongside Skillet. I thought after the first few listenes, "Where does this place with their older albums?" After listening to my second favorite from them, Ive made this number 2 now. Fresh lyrics and music, additions of choruses, variety of sounds, and some of the most powerful singing Ive heard from Dawn Michelle since I discovered the band! Them being a Christian rock band helps in why I love them rather than many other rock artists. That aside, anyone who likes rock will like this. Where they lack in the stadium prowess that Skillet shines in, they make up in emotionally strong, Biblically inspired lyrics.
On the other hand, Ive found a few new scores added to my Spotify account: The Mandalorian Seasons 1 and 2, Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol, Rogue Nation and Fallout, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and The Wardrobe, Pride and Prejudice, Enola Holmes, Beyond: Two Souls and Tenet.

Music is perhaps one of the most crucial aspects of the writing process for me. With tastes varying wildly from character to character. Right now it is Oceans of Slumber and their cover of Nights in White Satin (originally by the moody blues) - love the cover though, its slightly metallised and it really works. And Cammie is an amazing singer.

The singer is gospel trained so she's got all the range and ability. And that song is now owned by one of my characters I like to give mjy characters musical taste - and this is very much a favourite of Allyra. As for todays choice - this is more of a Mia song from the same work in progress. But a lovely song in its own way. Also, if you enjoy this song, please go and support the artist. Cadavaria is an amazing artist that deserves more support than she gets.

The first song I ever heard from them was The Banished Heart and I fell in love with the composition of it all.

And The Banished Heart is a particular favorite also. Excellent place to start with these guys

My tastes are significantly more mellow today. And yes my tastes are likely to give people whiplash at some point I do really love Jack's work, and voice - and I will admit to a bit of a man crush

Todays taste is a little more... well... dark, but dark does not automatically mean bad does it? In fact I think there is a great deal of beauty to be found in such things including in this wonderful song by Irish singer Karliene

Hmm, that song needs to be on an episode of the next season of The Witcher. 'Twould be perfect.

I love that Blues music is experiencing a bit of a revival at the moment - and Ayron Jones is one of my favorites

Fall For That - Suzanne Santo & Gary Clarke Jr Love this song, both are amazing musicians in their own right but together the sound is just lovely - bluesy, gritty and just a cool sound.

A bluesy favorite - both with Lara's vocals and Laura's guitar work - they both make such beautiful music together
