Ooo, ooo! I think I have an idea for my nonfiction entry. Not sure if anyone else is entering the nonfic division this time though. I think Bird was the only one to enter it last year.
Reading Annie Dillard's memoir-essays is really inspiring, and I think I know what to write about. At least, I hope the idea sticks and doesn't end up being just dumb.

I was feeling good about my fiction idea for a couple days. Now I'm not so sure. I realized the story was missing something, so I figured out a bit of conflict to add, but then I'm not sure how to integrate the addition. I probably need to cut some as well.
I have an idea for the poem and have three bad lines written.

So, quick question. I've written something that I would like to submit for the Fiction category. HOWEVER ...
It is based on a quick idea I jotted down a while ago. I haven't written a word or thought about it all that much until about a week ago when I was deciding whether or not to enter the contest. Does this disqualify me based on the something-I've-been-working-on rule?

An idea is one thing, as long as it fits the prompt, but pulling an old draft (finished or unfinished) out of the drawer is another. As long as the words in the story are new, it counts. |

Hoping to get my fiction entry 'done' tonight, if not turned in. Should be possible if I stay focused, which I'm not so good at.

Ooh yes, so much uncertainty with this entry. I'm struggling with a section right now that I might have to cut so I'll be able to submit in time.
EDIT: I'm in the GMT+8 time zone. I've been trying to figure out the deadline with a site that converts time zones, but it's all a bit over my head. Will there be a "24 hours left to submit" sort of post in case I've horribly miscalculated the conversion?  |

Well I got... uh, lucky? Hehe. Was struggling to finish off the story in time for submission, but a positive at-home Covid test means a day off work while I wait around to take an actual test LOL
So um. Yeah. Gonna turn that frown upside down and knock out some words XD
