Hey, all. Do any of you know of writing instruction YouTube vids that are actually good and useful and relevant?
It might be helpful if we can get a few of them posted for a thread in Resources.

Tale Foundry is my go-to writing YouTube channel. Their "Tale Tips" series would be a good fit for the Resources forum. Here's their first episode on world-building:

Brandon Sanderson has all of his lectures on youtube. They're long, like hour long classes, but extremely informative and fun to watch. He's a good teacher. Abbie Emmons also does good videos. They're face paced but very informative. I like how she gives info in digestible chunks and makes it entertaining. And my favorite, The Writing Gals. A great resource for anyone wanting to self-publish and succeed.

Omigosh, so many! I knew they had to be out there, but I had no clue where to start and who to trust. Now, the goal is to have these videos actually in Resources, not as links, but as the videos themselves. It would be dumb of me to get the post count credit for posting vids I didn't even know about, so doublejay9 Alatariel do you all want to get that thread started, and we can all add to it?

If you like how I made my first post, then yes, I’m game.

The channels I posted have dozens of videos on different writing topics. Maybe even hundreds... Do you want separate threads for each separate video? Like, the title as the topic? I'm not sure I have the time/bandwidth to go through each channel and make a separate resource thread for each individual video.

I figured that would be the case, and posting a few will lead viewers to the others. So maybe just your favorites? Or the most unique/useful that you've found? I guess if different videos cover drastically different topics, then different threads would be handy. Ought they be grouped by topic or by creator? Whatever you all judge to be best. Like, I dunno, "here's a great video on worldbuilding" then other folks can post their fave vids on worldbuilding. You know, group effort?

I wish I could find male writers that make as useful of videos as the following women.
Jenna Moreci seems to be known. ShaelinWrites from Reedsy.com (Stargirl showed me this website over a year ago on Discord), iWriterly, Ellen Brock.
Ive watched a small few videos from all but iWriterly. I just know they're informative. Hard to choose one video when many provide ample knowledge.

I know this is getting sorted out but yes I second Abbie Emmons. I really like her videos. HD: I've come across some male writer youtube videos. They are out there but I do understand most of these Youtube channels are females. Male ones just aren't as "popular" for some reason. The video bilance shared is male run. I like ScottWritesStuff's videos. www.youtube.com/channel/UC8dy1_07wDwytLanFbnOd6Q/videos. I haven't watched them all, only a couple but they did seem pretty helpful and there are others depending on what you are looking for.

Thanks for mentioning them. The reason is because they are working-from-home in freelancing, self employment, or work for a website.
