Ideal For: Poetry What is a Found Poem?Read about it HERE. Is that plagiarism? We are encouraging you to use single words and short phrases. If the poem does not copy entire sentences or paragraphs, you're safe. And a found poem is meant to find a new meaning lurking in the original text rather than copy it outright. Method: Choose a book, story, or article that speaks to you. Flip through several pages, jotting down words and phrases that pop out as significant. (The word selection can be based on a pre-chosen theme or completely unplanned and visceral.) Assemble the words, generally in the order they appear in the book. Delete the excess, add connecting words and phrases if necessary. Conscientiously choose line breaks for impact. And voila! Found poem. Post It: in the Poetry forum (to protect your exclusive 1st-time rights)(If you don't want critiques, specify "NO CRITIQUES" above your poem). Cite your source material (source title and author) in your post. Link to it below for Honor Points credit. Reward: 10 Medium Honor PointsBeautiful Example:

I don't have permission to access your referenced poem, Raveneye. Is it a closed forum?

I don't have permission to access your referenced poem, Raveneye. Is it a closed forum? ?? Hmm, I posted it in the regular poetry forum. The link itself might be messed up? Are you able to access the poetry forum? Or did you perhaps mean the poem attachment (the picture) in the first post? Since I disabled attachments for members, it might mean members can't even click on attachments anymore. If this is the case, I can add the poem image by link instead.

I can access the actual Poetry Forum and I can see the original image referenced in the "Found Poem" post. But...the link doesn't work for me and comes with the notification that I don't have access. Does that clear things up? I hope so.

Whoa, weird. That sound not be happening, and I haven't a clue why it is. If it happens with other links please let me know. I might need to open a support ticket or at least report a bug.

It's not a huge problem since I can access the poem through "regular" channels. But, like you said, it's just weird.
